Ask US Media to Cover the Mass Graves in Gujarat India

THE ISSUE

The Indian media has extensively covered the recent discovery of a mass grave in Gujarat. The grave is believed to hold the remains of some of the victims of the anti-Muslim pogroms of 2002.

Unfortunately the American media which has covered the discovery of mass graves in Bosnia and Iraq has not covered the news of the mass graves in Gujarat. The US media had covered the anti-Muslim pogrom of 2002 in Gujarat quite extensively.

Write or Call the National Commission for Minorities

THE ISSUE

In response to long-standing demands to give the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) constitutional status and arm it with adequate powers to discharge it duties, a bill has now been introduced in the Lok Sabha. This bill is at present under consideration of Parliament’s Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment headed by Shrimati Samitra Mahajan.

Narendra Modi, the architect of the 2002 Gujarat pogrom has been invited by his supporters to be honored at the convention of the Asian American Hotel Owners association in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His arrival coincides with the third anniversary of the Gujarat massacres in which more than 2000 people (most of them Muslims) were brutally killed, hundreds of women and girls were raped and sexually mutilated and over 150,000 were ethnically cleansed. The surviving victims continue to be persecuted in Gujarat.

Today is the third anniversary of the Gujarat pogroms. On this day, three years ago, a systematic pogrom was started against the Muslims of the Indian state of Gujarat. By the time the extensive violence subsided, more than 2000 Muslims were brutally killed, hundreds of women and girls were raped and sexually mutilated and over 150,000 were ethnically cleansed. The surviving victims continue to be persecuted in Gujarat.

Protest the visit of the architect of Gujarat Genocides and Rapes

Narendra Modi, the architect of genocide and mass rapes of Gujarati Muslims in March 2002 will be visiting the US on the 3rd anniversary of the Gujarat pogrom.

He has been invited as the guest of honor by the Asian American Hotel Owners Association to address the AAHOA convention in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on March 24 – 26 this year.

IMC-USA: Thank US Congresspersons for resolution condemning Modi and his visa revocation

The US Congress had introduced Resolution 156 and 160 condemning the persecution of Muslims and Christians by Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Gujarat. The resolution was sponsored by Congressmen John Conyers (D, MI-14) and Joseph Pitts (R, PA-16). Subsequently, the American State department denied Narendra Modi, the chief architect of the Gujarat pogrom of 2002, a diplomatic visa and revoked his existing tourist/business visa based on the International Religious Freedom Act.

On September 25th Bajrang Dal and VHP activists, blasted a mosque in Iklera, forcing Muslims to flee Iklera. According to press reports, the past 10 days have seen armed Bajrang Dal activists on the rampage, driving out about 25 Muslim families from their homes, ransacking their houses and setting them on fire. The village of Mishroli now has a welcome sign on a bright saffron board displaying the “Ideal Hindu Village”.
