Modi to inaugurate new Parliament on Nazi-inspired Hindu extremist icon’s birthday

In a blatant display of reverence for a Nazi admirer and Holocaust supporter, the Hindu supremacist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a new Parliament building on the birthday of V.D. Savarkar (1883-1966), one of the founders of the Hindu extremist ideology who was known for praising Hitler.

BJP IT department head Amit Malviya tweeted the announcement, saying, “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building on 28th May 2023, which is also the 140th birth anniversary of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, the great son of India.”

Savarkar praised Hitler on multiple occasions, calling Nazism a “tonic” for Germany.

“Germany has every right to resort to Nazism and Italy to fascism, and events have justified that those isms… were imperative and beneficial under the conditions that obtained there,” he said. “Nazism proved undeniably the savior of Germany.”

Opposition leaders have responded with outrage, calling the move a blatant show of disrespect to icons like Mahatma Gandhi and India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.

Karnataka BJP leader calls opposition party “Taliban government”

BJP leaders in Karnataka state are continuing to use anti-Muslim hate speech to attack the Congress party, which won a majority of seats from the BJP in recent elections. The BJP has repeatedly claimed that the Congress party is “anti-Hindu” and “Taliban” while falsely claiming that the BJP is “not against any religion.”

BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal stated that “Hindu activists fear that Taliban government is taking over Karnataka.”

“Hindu activists” is a soft term used to refer to members of violent Hindu militant groups such as the Bajrang Dal, which the Congress has threatened to ban due to vigilante attacks, mob violence, and murders.

“We are not against any religion. Our struggle is for Hindutva,” Yatnal said. “BJP and Hindu activists are not different. It is BJP’s responsibility to protect Hindus.”

“Hindu activists were massacred during the earlier Congress regime. Now, the government is being formed with the same leadership creating fear among Hindu activists.”

Hindu militants protest BJP leader’s daughter’s decision to marry Muslim man

Hindu militants in Uttarakhand are protesting the decision of a BJP leader’s daughter to marry a Muslim man

The militants, including members of the violent groups Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bhairav Sena, and Bajrang Dal, burned an effigy of BJP leader Yashpal Benam to protest the marriage.

“We strongly oppose such a marriage,” said one local militant leader.

Hindu militants are known for violently policing interfaith relationships and interactions between Muslim men and Hindu women, resulting in Muslim men being publicly attacked, arbitrarily arrested, and sometimes lynched to death.
