Around 700 homes belonging to Muslims demolished in eviction drives across Assam
In BJP-ruled Assam’s Goalpara, officials demolished the homes of over 450 Muslim families, leaving around 2000 people homeless. Officials claimed that the land was illegally occupied and under the pretext of preventing “man-elephant conflict.”
Officials in Assam’s Kamrup also bulldozed 250 homes, the majority of them belonging to Bengali-speaking Muslims, in an eviction drive that resumed less than two weeks after two men were shot dead by the police after the evictions sparked protests.

In the capital city of Delhi, BJP leader Ravinder Singh Negi was filmed harassing and forcing Muslim shopkeepers to display their names on store signs, claiming they are misleading Hindu customers into believing that they are Hindus.
Just days ago, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh state governments issued an order mandating that food establishments display the names and addresses of their operators, proprietors, and managers, in a move that some have described as economic apartheid.
BJP leader questions 12.5 million emails opposing new waqf laws, Hindu militant calls it “email jihad”
BJP lawmaker Nishikant Dubey called for an investigation into 12.5 million emails sent to a committee reviewing the federal government’s proposed amendments to laws regarding Muslim community land (Waqf) ownership and maintenance.
The committee invited public feedback, and received over 12.5 million emails and 75,000 letters. Muslim organizations and opposition parties have been staunchly opposing the move and slammed it as “intended to grab… properties from Muslims.”
However, Dubey baselessly claimed that the opposition was driven by foreign countries like Pakistan and China. Vinod Bansal, a leader of the Hindu militant group Vishwa Hindu Parishad, supported Dubey’s claims, referring to the wave of emails as “email jihad.”
