BJP lawmaker calls Muslims “demons,” urges Hindus to prepare for war
At an anti-Muslim hate speech event in Jaipur, Rajasthan, a lawmaker from the Hindu supremacist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena, delivered a hate speech referring to Muslims as demons and calling on Hindus to prepare for war against them.
During the same event, BJP lawmaker and serial hatemonger, T. Raja Singh, had threatened Muslim women with implied sexual violence and made open calls for violence against minorities while using anti-Muslim slurs and urging Hindus to militarize.
Quranic verses found in firecrackers used at Hindu religious procession in Mumbai
During a Hindu religious procession in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Hindu extremists used pages of the Quran in the making of firecrackers, resulting in verses from the holy Quran being scattered among the crackers when they burst. The incident has sparked outrage among the Muslim community, who have demanded that those responsible for the desecration of the Quranic verses face legal consequences.
Probe finds Hindu extremist hacked Muslim minor’s account to incite violence
Last month, in response to a social media post that Hindu extremists called “objectionable,” a violent mob of over a thousand extremists vandalized and set fire to Muslim homes and businesses. However, a police investigation has revealed that a Hindu extremist hacked the account of a Muslim minor and posted objectionable content in order to frame him and instigate anti-Muslim violence. One Muslim man died and eight others were injured as a result of the violence. The family of the minor has had their home pelted with stones and a vegetable stall belonging to a family member vandalized twice by Hindu extremists.
Hindu militant groups organize nationwide anti-Muslim hate speech events
In Bangalore, Karnataka, far-right Hindu leaders engaged in anti-Muslim fear-mongering, spread conspiracy theories, and called for advocating violence against Muslims during a series of events organized by Hindu militant groups Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. A leader from the Hindu paramilitary group Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS), Kalladka Prabhakar, also delivered an anti-Muslim hate speech. Similar anti-Muslim hate speech was delivered in Odisha’s Birmitrapur and Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha and Lakhimpur Kheri, where Hindu extremist leaders called for targeting Muslim places of worship.
