BJP lawmaker threatens to kill all Bangladeshi Muslims in India
After recent political upheaval in Bangladesh, Hindu extremist social media pushed multiple fake claims about attacks against members of the Hindu community in Bangladesh, to encourage hatred and violence against Indian Muslims.
Leaders of the ruling far-right Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also amplified these claims to advocate violence against undocumented Bangladeshis living in India. Nitesh Rane, a BJP lawmaker, who threatened, “We will kill them one by one,” on X.

In Mumbai, Maharashtra, Hindu militant groups Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal leader Gautam Kanji Rawaria threatened to “pluck out” Muslim men’s eyes and “cut off their hands” while peddling the anti-Muslim conspiracy of love jihad.
BJP lawmaker Nitesh Rane also delivered a dangerous anti-Muslim speech. “To protect our religion, we can pick up swords… Once we get on the field, no one will be able to save you… If you kill one of ours, we will make sure to kiII two of yours,” he said.
In Thane, Hindu militant leaders promoted the conspiracy theory of “love jihad” and urged Hindus to keep swords.
Assam to impose life imprisonment for love jihad, curb land sales to Muslims
Following in the footsteps of the Uttar Pradesh government, BJP-ruled Assam, led by Hindu supremacist Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has declared it will enforce stricter punishments for “love jihad” offenses, with the penalty now extending to life imprisonment. The “love jihad” conspiracy, which has been repeatedly debunked, claims Muslim men have an agenda to seduce and convert Hindu women.
The government has also proposed to make the Chief Minister’s consent necessary for land transactions between Hindus and Muslims, in an attempt to curb land sales to Muslims.
