Dalit man stabbed to death by barber after casteist abuse in Karnataka
A 26-year-old Dalit man was stabbed to death by a barber at a salon in Karnataka’s Koppal district. According to the police, the victim, Yamanurswamy Bandiha, had gone for a haircut and the salon owner demanded payment from him before the haircut.
Even after assurance from the victim, the accused made incendiary remarks based on his caste. The argument quickly intensified, and the barber stabbed him to death using a pair of scissors.

In far-right Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, Hindu extremist cow vigilantes tied and brutally assaulted a Muslim driver and his handyman for allegedly transporting buffalo meat. No action has been taken against the assaulters; however, police have arrested both the victims.
In a similar incident in Khordha, Odisha, cow vigilantes beat a driver and his handyman for allegedly transporting cattle.
Hindu militant mobs regularly attack Muslims over baseless accusations of committing crimes. These mobs, also known as cow vigilantes, assault and often lynch Muslims accused of transporting cattle or consuming beef.
“Kill a hundred Muslims for every Hindu”: Hindu monk calls for violence
A Hindu extremist monk in Rajasthan’s Balotra region delivered a hate speech openly calling for violence against Muslims, and labeling them “demons” and “cannibals”.
“If they (Muslims) kill a Hindu, we will kill a hundred. We will go to their homes and kill them,” he said.
The gathering ended with an oath taken by all present at the event, affirming to “make Hindus aware” and “teach lessons” to Muslims.
