Hindu extremist cow vigilantes attacked a truck driver in Rajasthan’s Tonk for allegedly transporting cattle.
Earlier this week, cow vigilantes assaulted a truck driver in Alwar and forced him to chant the Hindu supremacist warcry “Jai Sri Ram.” Similar incidents were also reported in Haryana and Odisha, where Hindu extremist cow vigilantes assaulted people over allegations of transporting cattle.
Police arrest pastor after Hindu supremacists barge into Christian prayer meet
In Jashpur, Chattisgarh, police arrested a pastor after members of Hindu far-right groups barged into a house over allegations of religious conversion, where members of the Christian community had gathered for a prayer meet.
Recently, in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh’s Morena, a Hindu militant group disrupted a Christian prayer meeting over allegations of forced religious conversion. A Christian-run school Betul was also attacked over similar allegations.
Modi government cancels foreign funds license of leading police research institute
Modi-led BJP government has canceled the license of India’s leading policy research institution Centre for Policy Research (CPR) which enabled it to receive foreign funds for research. The government claimed that the institute had violated the draconian Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).
The FCRA allows the Hindu supremacist government to block organizations and charities that support minorities from receiving overseas funding. The law has led to the shutdown of several minority-run charities and human rights groups, including Amnesty International’s India offices.
