Hindu militants, police evict Muslim garland vendor near temple

In Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, Hindu militants from the Bajrang Dal, along with the police, evicted a Muslim garland vendor from a space outside a temple. The incident is part of a wider trend of forcing Muslim business owners out of “Hindu areas,” including areas around temples.  

Hindu extremists assault two Muslim drivers over alleged cow smuggling

In Harayana’s Palwal, Hindu extremist cow vigilantes assaulted two Muslim drivers transporting cattle, baselessly accusing them of smuggling cows for slaughter. In another incident in Haryana, cow vigilantes caught the drivers of a truck transporting cattle, accusing them of being cow smugglers.

Hindu militant mobs regularly attack Muslims over baseless accusations of committing crimes. These mobs, also known as cow vigilantes, assault and often lynch Muslims accused of transporting cattle or consuming beef.

Uttar Pradesh officials excavate Muslim-majority areas looking for alleged “temples” 

Uttar Pradesh government officials began excavation work at two sites located in Muslim-majority areas in Firozabad, following claims made by Hindu militant groups that “ancient temples” were in the area.

Similar claims have been made by Hindu extremists across India in an effort to seize Muslim places of worship.
