Hundreds Of Hindu Extremist Openly Pledge To Kill Minorities To Make India A Hindu Nation

Hundreds of Hindu extremists affiliated with India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have taken a public oath to kill religious minorities and convert India into a Hindu nation.

In a video that has gone viral, Suresh Chavhanke, the editor-in-chief of Sudarshan News, a television channel, is seen administering an oath to a group of people to “die for and kill” to make India a Hindu nation.

The event was organized on December 19 by Hindu Yuva Vahini, a violent hate group founded by Yogi Adityanath, a self-styled monk who is the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.

“We take an oath and make a resolution that till our last breath, we shall fight, die for and if need be, kill, to make this country a Hindu rashtra,” Chavhanke said. Those present around him repeated his statements.

Chavan posted the video on Twitter of him administering the oath. “The lions and lionesses of Hindu Yuva Vahini taking an oath for Hindu Rashtra,” he said in the tweet. Uttar Pradesh minister Rajeshwar Singh was also present at the event.

Around the same time, a three-day hate speech conclave was organized by the controversial Hindutva leader Yati Narsinghanand during December 17-19 in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar city, where multiple calls to kill minorities and attack their religious spaces were made.

The event was live-streamed on social media. The videos of some of the speeches have also gone viral.

Narsinghanand is a well-known Islamophobic priest of a temple in Ghaziabad city that adjoins Indian capital New Delhi.

India Shoots The Messenger In Rejecting Steep Fall In Global Press Freedom Index

Instead of supporting free speech and protecting journalists, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is trying to discredit Reporters Without Borders, a globally renowned and credible organization, for pushing India further down on its Global Press Freedom Index.

Indian minister for Information & Broadcasting Anurag Thakur told Parliament on December 21 that the government rejected the RWB’s decision to rank India at a lowly 142 out of 180 countries.

This attempt by the Modi government would be laughable if it wasn’t so egregious. Just last week the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), another globally renowned press freedom organization, said India had seen the highest number of journalists killed this year — five — in the world.

Shamefully, minister Thakur, who himself is a hate-filled bigot and has openly called for violence against Muslims, said the RWB’s report was “questionable and non-transparent.” Ironically, Modi has never addressed a press conference in the seven-and-a-half years that he has been prime minister.

Hindu Extremist Group In Haryana Demands Muslims Convert To Hinduism To Avoid Persecution

A Hindu extremist group in Haryana state has demanded that Muslims convert to Hinduism or else continue to face persecution.

Mahaveer Bhardwaj, the self-styled chairman of the Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti, an amalgam of 32 Hindu organizations, said his outfit would organize the “ghar wapsi” (homecoming) event for Muslims to “be taken back in their castes and accepted with open arms.”

Hindu extremists insist that the ancestors of Indian Muslims and Christians had been Hindus and they should, therefore, “reconvert” to Hinduism. Once they join the Hindu faith, Bhardwaj added, “they will have their temples to pray and this namaaz issue will end” once and for all.

For three months, Hindutva groups have intimidated and threatened violence against Muslims praying at public locations in Gurugram city. The police have failed to act against the disruptors.
