Muslim children beaten, forced to say “Jai Sri Ram”

In Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam, Hindu extremists beat three Muslim children and forced them to chant the Hindu supremacist warcry “Jai Sri Ram.” The children were playing near a lake when the attackers approached them and upon learning they were Muslim, began assaulting them with slippers. 

The attackers threatened them with a knife and threatened to throw them inside the lake. 

The incident, which occurred a month ago, came to light after a video of the assault surfaced online.

Police book Muslim youth for bike ride with Hindu girl 

In Kerala, police booked a young Muslim man who went on a bike ride with his female Hindu colleague after other colleagues reported him to the police. Despite the girl and her mother stating they had no complaints, the police registered a complaint. 

Hindu militants are known for violently policing interfaith relationships and interactions between Muslim men and Hindu women, resulting in Muslim men being publicly attacked, arbitrarily arrested, and sometimes lynched.  

Teacher who forced students to slap Muslim boy released on bail

Tripta Tyagi, the Hindu teacher who was caught on video last year instructing students to slap a Muslim boy at a school in Uttar Pradesh, has been granted bail. The video, which surfaced in August 2023, showed Tyagi forcing students to slap an 8-year-old Muslim student to the point where he was crying. Tyagi was heard making anti-Muslim comments.

BJP-ruled Assam government bans eating beef in public

The far-right Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Assam has banned the consumption of beef in public places including restaurants and events. Several states ruled by the BJP have cracked down heavily on cow slaughter in recent years.

In many parts of India, Hindu extremist cow vigilante groups have been accused of enforcing the ban through violence, often leading to deadly attacks on Muslim meat sellers and cattle traders.
