Muslim man beaten by Hindu extremist mob in Uttar Pradesh
A 36-year-old Muslim driver, Shamsher, was brutally beaten by a group of three Hindu extremists over an argument while driving in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut. Upon discovering his Muslim identity, three Hindu men assaulted Shamsher, kicking him and slamming his head against the car’s bonnet, before summoning a mob to beat him for around an hour with hockey bats and wooden sticks.
“You are a Muslim, now we will teach you,” the attackers reportedly told the victim. Despite the clear hate crime, police have taken no action against the Hindu extremist mob.
Muslim scholar, event organizers arrested in Gujarat over alleged hate speech
Police in BJP-ruled Gujarat arrested Islamic scholar Mufti Salman Azhari and two other Muslim men, Mohammad Yousuf Malek and Azim Habib Odedara, over an event organized in Junagadh. After a video of the scholar’s speech went viral, the police booked him for “promoting enmity between different religious groups.”
Meanwhile, anti-Muslim hate speech events and rallies by BJP leaders and Hindu supremacist groups that peddle conspiracy theories, instigate violence against minorities and call for a genocide of Muslims continue to be given a free hand by law enforcement officials.

A Muslim man, Shahrukh, was assaulted by violent Hindu extremist cow vigilantes for transporting cattle in BJP-ruled Haryana’s Palwal.
Hindu militant mobs have increasingly been targeting Muslims over baseless accusations of committing crimes. These mobs, also known as cow vigilantes, attack and often lynch Muslims accused of transporting cattle or consuming beef.
Officials demolish Madrasa in Maharashtra
Civic officials in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, demolished an Islamic seminary (madrasa) over baseless allegations of “land encroachment.” The madrasa was demolished a day before its appeal in the court was due to be heard. Muslim residents say that the structure was demolished under pressure from Hindu supremacist groups.

In BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar, police fired at two alleged “cattle smugglers,” who sustained bullet injuries in their legs.
The incident is the latest in an ongoing trend of violent attacks against predominantly Muslim cattle traders by law enforcement. Over the last month, multiple instances of injuries have occurred due to police firing.
