Muslim man brutally assaulted by Hindu militants in Uttar Pradesh

In Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit, a Muslim man was brutally assaulted by a mob of Hindu militants from the Bajrang Dal. A video of the incident shows the group of men beating the victim, dragging him on the road, and continuing their assault. The victim sustained serious injuries during the assault, including a broken finger caused by a screwdriver, a stab wound to the stomach, and a head injury inflicted by a rod. 

Hindu supremacists protest outside mosque in Himachal Pradesh, demand demolition

Members of Hindu supremacist organizations, far-right BJP workers, and local Hindus gathered outside a mosque in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla, chanting Islamophobic slogans and demanding the demolition of what they claimed were unauthorized floors of the mosque. The protesters’ chants included claims that Muslim families in the region were “outsiders” and must be sent to Pakistan. 

Seven-year-old Muslim student expelled for bringing non-vegetarian food for lunch

A seven-year-old Muslim student was expelled from a school in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha for bringing non-vegetarian food to school for lunch. In a video shot by the student’s mother, the principal can be heard saying, “We can’t educate kids who break our temples, harm Hindus, talk about converting all Hindus, and destroying the Ram Mandir.”

The student’s mother also reported that her child had been a victim of anti-Muslim bullying, and on one occasion was locked in a room alone for several hours. She further stated that her son had complained of communal discussions among students for the past three months. 

Signs put up in Uttarakhand ban entry of non-Hindus, Rohingya 

Amid increasing intimidation and public threats against minority Muslims in Uttarakhand, signs in certain areas have been placed by Hindu supremacist groups banning the entry of non-Hindus and Rohingya Muslims for business activities.

Muslim leaders and victims of the recent anti-Muslim violence have sought police protection for the minority Muslim population residing in certain areas. They reported that Muslim-owned shops and business establishments were ransacked, looted, and a mosque was damaged. Several Muslims were also physically assaulted. Some Muslim residents, who have lived in the area for over five decades, were forced to flee with their families.
