Muslim man lynched to death in Nagaland
A Muslim man, Ikamul Hussain was brutally thrashed and lynched to death by a mob in Nagaland state. According to local news reports, Hussain was lynched over suspicion of theft.
“Secular” removed from Preamble of Indian Constitution copies distributed to lawmakers
The words “socialist” and “secular” have been removed from the Preamble of the Constitution of India in the new copies distributed to parliamentarians, according to senior opposition lawmaker Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
Hindu supremacist leaders have previously advocated for the removal of the word “secular” from the preamble of the Indian constitution and called for changing the constitution.
Hindu extremist leaders make open calls for militarization of Hindus
In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, a Hindu militant group Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader delivered a hate speech against Muslims, calling for “revenge” and encouraging anti-Muslim violence. In Bhojpur, at an event organized by the Hindu militant group Bajrang Dal, a Hindu extremist leader called for violence against Muslims and Christians. “If you don’t kill, you will be killed,” he told the crowd.
In Haryana, Hindu extremist leader Acharya Azad Singh Arya, known to be the mentor of murder-accused Hindu extremist Monu Manesar, delivered a hate speech targeting Muslims and calls to militarize Hindus.
