Police arrest Muslim student after he was brutally assaulted for talking to Hindu friend

A 12th-grade Muslim student was brutally assaulted by a mob of radicalized Hindu youth for talking to a female friend. The extremists accused Ali of “love jihad”, tied his hands, removed his shirt, and dragged him by a rope while parading him in front of a crowd. The girl was also harassed and assaulted by the mob.

Although no Hindu extremists were arrested for the assault, the victim was arrested under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) despite the girl denying being in a relationship with the victim and acknowledging that they were friends.

The victim’s family said that the police arrested him under pressure from he Hindu militant group Bajrang Dal.  

Officials demolish house of Muslim minor accused of injuring Hindu classmate

Civic officials in far-right Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Madhya Pradesh’s Udaipur demolished the house of a 15-year-old Muslim boy who reportedly stabbed his Hindu classmate. The victim and his father have also been detained by the police.

Following the alleged assault, Hindu supremacist groups has set fire to vehicles, raised incendiary slogans and threw stones ransacking public property. 

After the demolition, the landlord said that four more families were also asked to leave and their houses demolished.

Muslim man arrested for waving Palestinian flag in Uttar Pradesh

A Muslim man was arrested in far-right BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut for allegedly waving a Palestinian flag during a rally on August 15th, India’s Independence Day.

The victim was arrested following complaints by Hindu supremacist groups who were enraged when a video surfaced online showing the youth waving the Palestinian flag during the rally. 

Last month, a number of Muslim men in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Kashmir were arrested for waving the Palestinian flag at religious processions. Meanwhile, police have taken no action against anti-Palestinian hatred and support for Israel’s genocidal onslaught.

Elderly Muslim man assaulted by mob over suspicion of smuggling cows

In Samastipur, Bihar, an elderly Muslim man was attacked by a Hindu extremist cow vigilante mob over suspicion of smuggling cows.

Hindu militant mobs regularly attack Muslims over baseless accusations of committing crimes. These mobs, also known as cow vigilantes, assault and often lynch Muslims accused of transporting cattle or consuming beef.
