Police officer holds truck driver down as cow vigilantes assault him

Hindu supremacist cow vigilantes were aided by police in the brutal assault of a truck driver transporting cattle, accusing him of smuggling. A viral video shows a police officer throwing the driver to the ground and holding him down, allowing the vigilantes to beat him.

Sambhal police officer says Muslims should stay home on Holi

In Uttar Pradesh, Sambhal Circle Officer Anuj Kumar Chaudhary sparked outrage after stating that Muslims who object to being hit with powdered colors during Holi should “stay at home,” adding, “If people of the Muslim community feel that the colors of Holi will corrupt your religion, then do not step out of the house that day.” 

His remarks, which referenced the fact that Holi and Muslims’ Friday prayers fall on the same day this year, were condemned as biased and inappropriate for a police officer. Chaudhary also downplayed the significance of Friday prayers during Ramadan, saying, “There are 52 Friday prayers in a year, but only one Holi.” 

Supreme Court lawyer said Muslims should be charged with “waging war” for “love jihad”

Speaking at an event in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Supreme Court lawyer and Hindu supremacist Ashwani Upadhyay promoted several anti-Muslim conspiracy theories, including ‘love jihad,’ ‘drug jihad,’ ‘infiltration jihad,’ ‘population jihad,’ and ‘religious conversion jihad.’ He demanded that ‘love jihad’ cases be prosecuted under harsh laws like the National Security Act (NSA), the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and charges of waging war against the state.
