Ad for Delhi Govt’s Scholarship Scheme Omits Minority Students
The Revenue Department of the Delhi government has put out public notice on its website about the state-funded scholarship for minority students from class 1 to 12. Eyebrows were raised after a public notice inviting scholarship application of students of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and OBCs (Other Backward Communities) in a newspaper did not mention the minorities.
On Wednesday, former chairman of Delhi Minorities Commission Zafarul Islam Khan shared the screenshot of the public notice inviting scholarship application put out by the Delhi government and pointed out the omission of minorities from the government notice.
Khan told Clarion India that the issue was that this public notice used to also mention minorities every year. But the notice of this year did not mention the minorities….
