Cow vigilantes attack Sikh truck driver, use turban to restrain his feet

In far-right Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Haryana’s Sonipat, Hindu extremist cow vigilantes assaulted a Sikh truck driver and used his turban to tie his feet. In Jhajjar, cow vigilantes assaulted and humiliated two men for transporting cattle. 

Hindu extremist attempts to hoist saffron flag over Muslim shrine

In BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj, a man climbed on a Muslim shrine and tried to hoist a saffron flag over it during a Hindu religious procession. Last week, in Bikaner, Rajasthan, Hindu extremists chanted Jai Sri Ram in front of a mosque.

Hindu processions passing through Muslim-majority areas routinely engage in provocative behaviors, including by vandalizing mosques and attacking Muslims and their properties.

Hindu extremists continue to flash swords at Hindu processions

Across several cities, Hindu extremists participating in religious processions brandished swords while marching through the streets. Videos of such armed processions have surfaced from Godda and Dhanbad in Jharkhand and Purnia in Bihar. 

Police open fire at alleged “cattle smuggler,” victims sustain bullet wound

In Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh, police fired gunshots at an alleged “cattle smuggler,” who sustained a bullet injury in his leg. 

The incident is the latest in an ongoing trend of violent attacks against predominantly Muslim cattle traders by law enforcement. Over the last few months, multiple such injuries have occurred due to police firing.

BJP leader delivers anti-Muslim hate speech in Telengana 

In Hyderabad, Telengana, BJP leader Laddu Yadav delivered an inflammatory speech against Muslims, calling for taking over historic mosques in Mathura and Varanasi cities. He also endorsed the use of violence and called for making India a “Hindu nation.”
