Fake Claim in PM Housing Ad: Woman Featured with Modi Denies Getting a House
News Laundry has debunked the claims made in a government advertisement featuring a woman alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi that she got a house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
In an interview to the New Laundry, Laxmi Devi, 48, said she didn’t get a house under the scheme adding, she lives in a rented house and pays Rs 500 per month. About the claim in the advertisement, she said, it “is a lie”….
She said she was puzzled to see the photo of her in the advertisement and does not remember when the photo was clicked…. She shares the house with her sons, their wives and children.
