Hindu extremist leader calls Indian Muslims, Christians a “disease”
In Maharashtra’s Mumbai, a Hindu extremist group leader, Dhananjay Desai, delivered a dehumanizing speech against Muslims and Christians.
“Non Hindus living in India are like a disease living in a human body,” he said. He went on to call Rohingya refugees living in India “termites”.
In the capital city of Delhi, Hindu extremist news editor Suresh Chavhanke peddled anti-Muslim conspiracy theories to promote fear and hate against Muslims.
Federal minister threatens violence, says Modi will “fix” cow killers
Hindu supremacist Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to deliver Islamophobic speeches at election rallies across the country. He claimed that the opposition would welcome “Bangladeshi immigrants” into the country and reiterated that the opposition has declared “vote jihad” against him.
In Bihar, federal minister Amit Shah threatened violence by saying, “Give Modi a third term and we will fix these cow killers.”
BJP ministers deliver anti-Muslim hate speeches, demonize historic Muslim rulers
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Hindu militant monk Yogi Adityanath compared the opposition party to Aurangazeb, a Mughal Muslim ruler who is frequently demonized in Hindu supremacist understandings of history. Adityanath further claimed that Aurangazeb killed cows and broke temples.
Another BJP minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma threatened to build a temple on the site of the historic Gynavapi mosque, at an election rally in Odisha.
