Hindu militant groups illegally conduct firearms training camps in various states

Hindu militant groups with an infamous track record of unleashing brutal violence against Muslims have been illegally conducting firearms training camps for their members across Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh states.

In Hindu supremacist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Uttar Pradesh, Hindu militant groups Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal organized a training for its members on how to fight with guns.

In BJP-ruled Gujarat’s Ahmedabad city, a Hindu militant group led by serial hatemonger Pravin Togadia conducted firearms training for Hindus. In Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra states, firearms training camps were organized by the Bajrang Dal.

In Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh district, the VHP illegally conducted firearms training for Hindu girls.

Additionally, the Bajrang Dal organized military-style parades flaunting dozens of guns, swords, and batons amid police presence across Jodhpur, Udaipur, and Jalore districts of Rajasthan state.

The growing weaponization of violent Hindu supremacists is a cause of concern for the minority Muslim community, who are being threatened with mass slaughter by Hindu extremist groups.

Muslims were burnt to death by cow vigilantes after being turned away by police: Report

A chargesheet regarding the horrific mob lynching of two Muslim men, Junaid and Nasir, in February has revealed that local police were presented with an opportunity to save the two victims, but refused to intervene.

Less than 24 hours before the charred bodies of two Muslim men were found in BJP-ruled Haryana state, they were taken by cow vigilantes to a local police station, which turned them away, saying it had nothing to do with them, according to the chargesheet filed by the Rajasthan Police.

The two men, Junaid and Nasir, were abducted by the Hindu militants and brutally beaten after the mob accused them of cow smuggling. The two were then taken to a police station in Nuh district, where the militants demanded that the police take action against the victims. When the police refused to intervene despite seeing the condition of the two men, the militants murdered Junaid and Nasir and torched their bodies in a car.

When contacted, Nuh Superintendent of Police Varun Singla said, “We are probing the case. As and when we get the statements of more accused in the case, we will look into it. If criminal culpability is found on the part of any officer, we will take appropriate action.”

On the victims being turned away from the police station despite being injured, the SP declined to comment.

Former opposition leader slams Modi govt’s atrocities against minorities in US event

Former opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has slammed the Narendra Modi government for promoting atrocities against the Muslim community, other religious minorities, and Dalits in India in a U.S. event.

“It is being felt most strongly by the Muslim community because it is done most directly to them. But in fact, it is done to all communities. The way you (Muslims) are feeling attacked, I can guarantee Sikhs, Christians, Dalits, and tribals are feeling the same,” Gandhi said, during an event in San Francisco on Wednesday.

Gandhi was responding to a question concerning Muslims in India.

“The poor and people from minority communities feel helpless today,” he added. “Indians do not believe in hating each other. A small group of people who control the system and the media are stoking the flames of hatred.”

In March, Gandhi was undemocratically ousted from Parliament over remarks he had made about Modi’s surname. However, no disciplinary action is taken against BJP leaders who consistently call for hatred and violence against minorities.
