Story 1 1,700 Muslim Homes Evicted in Assam Residents Claim Decades of Settlement, Mosque Demolished In Nagaon, Assam, civic officials carried out an eviction drive targeting a mosque and 1700 homes belonging to Bengali Muslims, displacing hundreds of families. Residents say they have lived there for decades, with some stating they have paid revenue on the land since 2008. Story 2 Mumbai College Burqa Ban Muslim Student Groups Call Rule Unconstitutional A college in Mumbai, Maharashtra, has imposed a campus-wide burqa ban, triggering protests from Muslim students and Muslim organizations, who argue that the rule is discriminatory and violates constitutional protections of equality and religious freedom. Story 3 Kashmiri Trader Assaulted in Punjab Viral Video Shows Brutal Attack Over Missing Walnut Shipment In Ludhiana, Punjab, a Kashmiri walnut trader was assaulted by employees of a transport company following a business dispute. The victim, who has worked in Punjab for 20 years, said he attempted to resolve the issue peacefully but was beaten instead. Story 4 Hindu Rally Attempts Mosque Entry in Karnataka Hindu Procession Stops at Jama Masjid, Claims Mosque Built Over Temple Participants of a Hindu religious procession in Srirangapatna, Karnataka, attempted to storm the local Jama Masjid. Hindu extremist groups who were part of the event baselessly alleged the mosque was built over a demolished temple and demanded control of the site. Story 5 Muslim Shrine Demolished in Gujarat Authorities Cite Encroachment, Clear Area for Highway Expansion Authorities in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar demolished a Muslim shrine after declaring it an illegal encroachment. This is the latest in a series of demolitions of religious and other structures in the region over recent days. Story 6 Indigenous Group Targets Mosque in Arunachal Pradesh Members Demand Documents, Threaten Mosque Demolition in Itanagar In Arunachal Pradesh, members of the Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Youth Organization entered a mosque, interrogated worshippers, and demanded documentation for the structure. They warned that the mosque would be demolished if not and forced the imam to chant nationalist slogans. Story 7 Journalist’s Home Demolished in Jammu Officials Accuse Illegal Construction; Locals Say Family Lived There 40 Years In Jammu, civic officials demolished the home of journalist Arfaz Ahmed Daing, claiming the structure was illegally built. Locals protested, saying the family had lived there for nearly four decades. Story 8 Christian Prayer Meeting Halted in UP Hindu Militants, Police Raid Prayer Meeting, Allege Conversions In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Hindu militants from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal raided a Christian prayer meeting, accusing organizers of attempting to convert Hindus. Police stopped the gathering, asked attendees to leave, and questioned participants, who denied the allegations.
