Molested & filmed, Dalit girl ends life in Rajasthan, kin alleges police inaction
A Dalit girl in Rajasthan’s Udaipur ended her life after she was allegedly molested, threatened and filmed. Over a week after the girl’s death, her family has claimed that the investigating officer of the case is shielding the accused.
Allegedly, the girl took her own life by suicide on October 7 and her obscene video went viral on October 5. As per the deceased girl’s father, she was raped and threatened by a boy.
The girl’s father approached the Saira police and lodged an FIR on October 8. On October 14, the girl’s family wrote to the IG and SP of Udaipur, accusing the Saira police of shielding the accused and urging them to negotiate with him….
