Muslim cattle trader assaulted by Hindu militants in Karnataka

In Karnataka state, a Muslim cattle trader, Bande Nawaz, was violently attacked by extremists affiliated with the Hindu militant group Bajrang Dal.

Upon discovering cattle in the victim’s truck, the militants assaulted him, leaving him severely injured and bleeding profusely. A video of the attack shows Nawaz’s body covered in multiple wounds and blood stains.

A Muslim egg seller who was brutally attacked by police in Gujarat has now been left paralyzed for life. 

“[The victim] will suffer for his whole life, he had gotten married 8 months ago. His life is over now. He will never be able to stand on his feet,” his brother said. 

The police had assaulted him allegedly because he kept his store open past nine o’clock at night.

PM Modi, BJP ministers spread anti-Muslim propaganda in election rallies

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to make anti-Muslim hate speeches, members of the Hindu supremacist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have also continued to spread anti-Muslim conspiracies and call for violence. 

In Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, a BJP leader claimed that Muslims “marry three to four times, produce dozens of children, and eat away our resources.” In Telangana, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami delivered a communal speech promoting the conspiracy theory of “land jihad.”

Police open fire at alleged “cattle smugglers,” victims sustain bullet wounds

In separate incidents in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur and Saharanpur, police fired gunshots at two alleged “cattle smugglers,” who sustained bullet injuries in their legs. 

The incident is the latest in an ongoing trend of violent attacks against predominantly Muslim cattle traders by law enforcement. Multiple such injuries have occurred on a near-weekly basis due to police firings.
