Muslims beaten up by police, stopped from voting in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh

Muslims in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal have reported being beaten by police and prevented from casting their votes, in an alarming escalation of Muslim disenfranchisement.

In another alarming case of voter suppression in BJP-ruled Gujarat’s Devbhoomi Dwarka, more than 500 Muslim voters’ names were removed from the voter list without reason. The voters say that they were able to vote in the previous elections in 2019 and have been “deliberately sidelined” this time.

Muslim school principal fired for her pro- Palestinian views on social media

The principal of  a Mumbai school, Parveen Shaikh, was fired from her job for engaging with pro–Palestine content as well as criticism of Hindu supremacy on social media. Leading up to her firing, Shaikh was smeared by an article published by OpIndia, a Hindu extremist propaganda website, which labeled her as “pro terror” for supporting Palestine. 

The school management issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) stating that her personal social media activities were “starkly misaligned with the values we cherish.” 

PM Modi continues anti-Muslim speeches, says opposition has declared “vote jihad”

In an increasingly transparent attempt to polarize voters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has claimed that the opposition party has declared “vote jihad” against him by calling on Muslims to unite and vote against the BJP.

Modi also declared that his party will prevent the opposition from putting a “Babri lock” on the Ram Temple in Ayodhya or reinstating the special status of Muslim-majority Jammu and Kashmir. 

Hindu supremacist leaders deliver anti-Muslim hate speech in Maharashtra

In Nanded, Maharashtra, Hindu supremacist influencer Kajal Hindustani delivered a hate speech against Muslims. She peddled anti-Muslim conspiracy theories and called for boycott of non-Hindu businesses.

In Ahmednagar , Maharashtra, Hindu supremacist leader Sangram Bapu Bhandare delivered a communal speech promoting hate and fear against Muslims and Christians. He promoted anti Muslim conspiracy theories of “love jihad” and “land jihad”.
