Muslim man attacked in Rajasthan for refusing to chant “Jai Shri Ram”

A Muslim man in Rajasthan state was beaten and forced to chant a Hindu religious slogan by a group of violent Hindu extremists. Saheb Ali Khan, 21, suffered severe injuries during the assault.

According to Saheb, he was accosted by a group of Hindu extremists, who demanded that he chant the Hindu religious slogan “Jai Shri Ram,” or “Glory to Lord Ram.” Angered by Saheb’s refusal, the extremists attacked him with swords, iron rods, and bats. During the assault, they hurled derogatory slurs at him, referring to him as a “katwa,” a derogatory term meaning “circumcised one.”

Bus conductor forced to remove skullcap in Karnataka 

A video of a female passenger forcing a government bus conductor to remove his skullcap, a cap worn by Muslim men, has gone viral. 

“You practice your religion at home. You shouldn’t wear the skullcap when in uniform,” the woman can be heard saying in the video. 

The conductor responds, “I have been wearing it for many years, madam.”

The woman insists the conductor must remove his green cap, adding she won’t “object if you wear it at the mosque or your house.” The conductor is then seen removing the skullcap in front of all his passengers.

School principal suspended over organizing Eid celebrations at Gujarat school

The principal of a school in Hindu supremacist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Gujarat state was suspended after students of her school took part in Eid celebrations. In a video, the students were seen performing a skit while wearing skull caps to depict the celebration of the Islamic festival Eid-al-Adha.

Hindu extremists alleged that Islam was “imposed” on Hindu students and that the video “hurt” Hindu sentiments. Subsequently, principal Priti Vaswani was suspended.

Thousands of Hindu extremists rally against construction by Muslim man 

Thousands of Hindu extremists organized a rally in Hindu supremacist BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh state to protest against the construction of a shop by a Muslim man.

The Muslim man made clear that he possessed all the necessary documents for the construction and had abided by all the law. Despite this, officials have forced him to stop the construction.
