Muslim man beaten to death by mob in Jharkhand
Sheikh Tajuddin, a 48-year-old Muslim man, succumbed to his injuries six days after being brutally beaten with sticks and rods by a Hindu mob in Jharkhand’s Saraikela-Kharsawan district.
The family believes that he was attacked solely because of his Muslim identity, with his beard and skullcap.
Hindu extremists call for removal of statue of renowned Muslim musician
Hindu extremist groups including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal organized a protest in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, demanding the removal of a statue of renowned Muslim tabla player Ustad Ahmed Jan Khan Thirakwa.
The BJP government is already under fire for renaming several cities, with accusations that it is attempting to appease its Hindu voters at the cost of further marginalizing Indian Muslims and heritage.
Hindu extremists accuse truck drivers of cow smuggling
In Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura, Hindu extremist cow vigilantes from the Gau Raksha Dal caught two drivers with a pickup truck carrying cattle, over allegations of cow smuggling. The drivers were later handed over to the police.
Hindu militant mobs regularly attack Muslims over baseless accusations of committing crimes. These mobs, also known as cow vigilantes, assault and often lynch Muslims accused of transporting cattle or consuming beef.
