Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister says Modi government laid the foundation for a Hindu nation

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Hindu supremacist icon Yogi Adityanath has praised the welfare schemes of the far-right BJP government led by Hindu supremacist Prime Minister Narendra Modi as being the bedrock of “Ram Rajya” (Nation of Hindu deity Ram), and heralded the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, at the site where the Babri mosque once stood, before it was demolished by Hindu extremists in 1992.

His rhetoric echoes calls by Hindu supremacists who have been demanding that India drop its secular foundations in favor of a Hindu ethno-state.
