Muslim politician attacked with cricket bat in BJP-ruled Assam

In Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Assam, Muslim opposition parliamentarian Rakibul Hussain was attacked with a cricket bat while returning from a meeting. His security officer was also assaulted. 

Hussain has accused the ruling BJP for providing impunity to the party’s extremist supporters. Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, is a vocal Hindu supremacist who often calls for violence and discrimination against Muslims. 

Militant monk declares he will fight Islam until it is “completely eradicated”

In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Hindu militant monk Yati Narsinghanand declared at a Param Dharm Sansad organized by Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati that his “personal fight” is against Islam and vowed to continue until it is “completely eradicated.”

In Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, Hindu militants detained an interfaith couple heading to court to register their marriage, accusing the Muslim man of “love jihad.” “Love jihad” is a baseless conspiracy, used to justify violence against Muslim men and strip agency from Hindu women.
