Muslim women assaulted by men posing as police officers in Bihar

A Muslim widow, her mother, and daughter were assaulted by men who barged into their home dressed in civilian clothes and claimed to be police officers in Bihar’s Sitamarhi.

The victim, Reshami Khatoon, said, “They broke our gate and came inside…They started to use vulgar words and intimidated all of us. When I questioned them who they were, they got very angry, held my hair and pushed me towards the wall injuring me very badly.”

Reshami’s son was booked in a criminal case six months ago. The family denied the allegations as false and approached police officials and the court, seeking an investigation.

Hindu extremists raid huts in Uttarakhand, harass occupants for eating chicken

In Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Uttarakhand’s Haridwar, Hindu extremist cow vigilantes raided peoples’ huts, near the bank of river Ganga, and physically harassed and threatened them for eating chicken in their homes. 

Hindu extremist leaders have often called for a ban on non-vegetarian food near Hindu religious places and during Hindu festivals. 

Officials in Uttar Pradesh demolish houses of Muslim migrants from Assam 

In BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, civic officials demolished shelters in a slum housing Muslim migrants from Assam, citing them as illegal settlements. 

India’s Supreme Court recently banned the weaponization of demolitions as collective punishment against Muslims, declaring that any demolitions carried out without proper notice or legal permission amounts to contempt of court. 

Man trespasses church in Meghalaya, raises “Jai Sri Ram” slogan

In Meghalaya, a man trespassed a church, shouted the Hindu supremacist warcry “Jai Sri Ram” inside it and posted the incident online. 

In another incident in Haryana’s Ambala, Hindu militants from the Bajrang Dal raided a Christian event and chanted slogans, accusing worshippers of forcibly converting Hindus to Christianity. The attendees also claimed that they were attacked with sticks and stones.
