Muslim youth paraded, beaten by police officials in Madhya Pradesh

In Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Madhya Pradesh, police publicly paraded and beat a Muslim youth after he got into an argument with a group of Hindu supremacists. Hindu militants followed the procession, chanting anti Muslim slogans.

The victim had opposed certain anti-Muslim statements made by the Hindu extremists, who responded by assaulting the victim and demanding that the police parade him publicly.

Officials demolish mosque, madrasa in Maharashtra after BJP leader’s visit

Civic officials demolished a mosque and madrasa in Maharashtra days after BJP lawmaker Nitish Rane visited the site. Locals reported that no prior notice was issued for the demolition, a practice that the Indian Supreme Court has declared illegal.

India’s Supreme Court recently banned the weaponization of demolitions as collective punishment against Muslims, declaring that any demolitions carried out without proper notice or legal permission amounts to contempt of court.

Supporters of Hindu militant groups pledge allegiance to “Hindu Nation”

At an event in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, supporters of Hindu militant groups Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal pledged their allegiance to India as a Hindu nation. Attendees took pledges while holding sharp-edged tridents that were distributed during the event. They were heard reciting the oath: “Bharat (India) is a Hindu Rashtra (nation)! Protecting Bharat from internal and external forces is the objective of our lives.”

A series of similar events, organized by Hindu militant groups have already showcased inflammatory rhetoric, hate speech, and divisive propaganda targeting Muslims.
