PM Modi continues anti-Muslim hate speech in election rallies

Despite being the subject of international news coverage for making hateful remarks about Indian Muslims, Hindu supremacist Prime Minister Narendra Modi has continued spreading anti-Muslim propaganda in his speeches. During his rallies in Rajasthan and Chattisgarh, Modi claimed that India’s opposition party, if voted to power, would distribute the nation’s wealth among Muslims.

Earlier this week, he called Muslims “infiltrators” – signifying that they do not belong in India – and claimed that they “have more children”, a false Hindu supremacist conspiracy that claims Muslim population growth is replacing Hindus.

Hindu supremacists harass Muslim men who subleased shop from Hindu landlord

A mob of Hindu supremacists harassed two Muslim men who had subleased a shop from a Hindu landlord in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Uttarakhand’s Dehradun. The mob demanded that the Muslim men take down a banner put up by the Hindu landlord that had the name of the Hindu deity Lakshmi.

Over the past year, Hindu extremist leaders in Uttarakhand have demanded boycotts against Muslims and urged Hindus not to rent homes and shops to the minority group.

Cow vigilantes assault truck driver over alleged cattle transport

In Bhilwara, Rajasthan, Hindu extremist cow vigilantes assaulted a truck driver over allegations of transporting cattle.

Hindu militant mobs have increasingly been targeting Muslims over baseless accusations of committing crimes. These mobs, also known as cow vigilantes, attack and often lynch Muslims accused of transporting cattle or consuming beef.
