Protesting Kashmiri students assaulted, hijabs torn off

Kashmiri students, along with others, were severely assaulted at a Punjab university while protesting the school’s move to transfer around 70 Kashmiri students to a college that does not have accreditation. A video of the incident shows students being struck with sticks, with one student receiving a blow that left his head bloodied. 

“We are Muslims. Our hijabs were forcibly pulled from our heads, with some of them torn,” one student reported. “Several Kashmiri students were arrested by the police on campus.”

Hindu militant group leader says India will soon be officially declared a Hindu nation

In Uttar Pradesh, a leader of the Hindu militant group Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Sadhvi Prachi, claimed that India will soon be officially declared a Hindu nation. 

Recently, at an event in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, a Hindu extremist monk, sharing the stage with a senior leader of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu supremacist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), advocated for the removal of the word “secular” from the preamble of the Indian constitution and called for changing the constitution.

Hindu supremacist groups organize events promoting conspiracy theories against Muslims

In Udaipur, Rajasthan, the leader of far-right Hindu outfit Rajput Karni Sena, Mahipal Singh Makrna, delivered hate speech against Muslims and Christians. He advocated the use of violence and called for the militarization of Hindus.

In Madhya Pradesh, Hindu militant groups Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal organized events in Hatpipliya and Khandwa, where provocative and conspiracy theory-filled anti-Muslim hate speeches delivered to promote hostility towards Muslims.
