Recall Lakshadweep administrator, Kerala assembly passes resolution
The state assembly on Monday unanimously adopted a resolution calling on the Centre to recall Lakshadweep administrator Praful Khoda Patel and take immediate steps to protect the lives and livelihood of the islanders.
….The resolution…. said attempts were being made to impose a saffron agenda and corporate interests on the people of Lakshadweep. It began by painting coconut trees with saffron colour and it has now grown into destroying their traditional habitat, life and natural relationships.
The administration has begun enforcing a Goonda act in a place where crimes are scarce. Such measures have been taken in anticipation of any protest and to silence any voice of dissent. A dictatorial system of governance is being developed, the resolution said….
