VUN Chief Asks India to End Use of Pellet Guns against Children in Kashmir
United Nations Secretary General António Guterres has appealed to India to end the use of buckshot pellet guns against children in Kashmir.
The appeal was made in the latest report by the Secretary General on “Children and Armed Conflict” which was presented in the UN Security Council for open debate on Monday….
Four children were detained by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir for alleged association with armed groups, the report noted. A total of 39 children including 33 boys and six girls were directly affected by violence in J&K. Of these, nine were killed and 11 were maimed by pellet guns, the report revealed, adding that two children were torture by unidentified perpetrators….
