Fact finding report names BJP leaders, Delhi Police in Delhi riots: Delhi Minorities Commission

Five months after the horrific riots of North East Delhi, the Delhi Minorities Commission today released its Fact-finding report which is completely contradictory to the conspiracy theory mentioned by the Delhi Police in their Chargesheets.… The 130-page report names close to 10 BJP leaders responsible for Inflammatory speeches and for fanning communal sentiments in Delhi before the riots. The FFT names Somashekhar Reddy, Amit Shah, Anurag Thakur, Giriraj Singh, Parvesh Verma, Tarun Chugh, Tajinder Pal Bagga, Tejasvi Surya, Yogi Adityanath and Kapil Mishra for their provocative speeches which lead to the riots. While the Delhi Police is yet to implicate Kapil Mishra, the report mentions that the speech of Kapil Mishra at Maujpur in the presence of DCP North East Ved Prakash Surya sparked the riots that engulfed the Northeast region of Delhi.…Read more


BJP Blocks Parliament Panel Review Of PM CARES Fund, Coronavirus Response

The Public Accounts Committee or PAC, one of the most important parliamentary panels which scrutinises key reports by the auditor general and has taken up issues like the 2G spectrum scandal in the past, failed to arrive at a consensus on Friday on examining the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic or the new PM CARES fund set up to tackle the crisis. The chairman of the committee, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who is also the leader of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha, appealed to members to think of the nation and act with their conscience and find a consensus on the important subject.… Some opposition leaders claimed that the reason for denying the scrutiny of the COVID-19 pandemic and the government’s response is because the BJP is afraid of a closer look into the PM CARES fund which is not under the audit of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India or CAG.…Read more


Indian pastor and Christian families terrorised by radical Hindutva mobs in Uttar Pradesh

Hindutva radicals forced an Indian pastor to bow in front of an idol and terrorised two Christian families into fleeing their homes in a remote village in Uttar Pradesh. The extremists attacked the prayer house in Dassmora, breaking down walls, windows and doors, during three days of violence that began on 2 July. The mob dragged village Pastor Vikas Gupta inside a Hindu temple where he was forced to bow to a temple idol before being subjected to a humiliating parade through the local market. The following day, another mob ransacked Pastor Vikas’ home. His and two other Christian families were threatened that, if they did not leave the village, the women would be raped, the men killed and their homes set on fire.…Read more
