20-Year-Old Muslim man Arrested for WhatsApp “Palestine support” status

A 20-year-old Muslim man from Karnataka’s Hospet has been arrested for posting a WhatsApp status that expressed support for Palestine with what authorities deemed as “provocative” slogans. Recently, four Muslim students from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in Uttar Pradesh state were booked for protesting Israel’s ongoing human rights violations against Palestine. 

Student protestors detained for expressing solidarity with Palestine in Hyderabad

Police in Hyderabad city detained protesters, mostly women and students, who had gathered to express solidarity with Palestine. The protestors were heard chanting slogans against Israeli aggression. Recently, a BJP leader called students protesting in support of Palestine as “terrorists.”

2 Muslim men interrogated for accompanying Hindu girl in Karnataka

Two Muslim men were interrogated by police in Karnataka state after they were seen standing with a Hindu girl at a bus stop. Though they claimed that they were students and they knew each other, they were taken to the police station, interrogated, and released. 

Hindu militants are known for violently policing interfaith relationships and interactions between Muslim men and Hindu women, resulting in Muslim men being publicly attacked, arbitrarily arrested, and sometimes lynched.  

Terror-accused Hindu extremist leader receives grand welcome upon release

Vaibhav Raut, a Hindu extremist leader from the Hindu militant group Sanatan Sanstha, who had been imprisoned for his involvement in a plot to bomb the Sunburn music festival in Pune in 2017, received a grand welcome from a gathering of Hindu extremists in Mumbai city upon his release on bail. Following his arrest in August 2018, police discovered a significant cache of arms, including pistols, crude bombs, electronics, airguns, and ammunition at Raut’s house.
