Blind elderly Muslim abducted, violently assaulted, beard burnt by Hindu extremists
Hussain Saab, an elderly blind Muslim man, was brutally assaulted by two Hindu extremists and forced to chant the Hindu supremacist warcry “Jai Sri Ram” in Gangavathi city, Karnataka.
The Hindu extremists yanked him aboard on a scooter and abused him physically and verbally throughout the ride. They later assaulted him, pushed him to the ground, and dragged him by his legs, which caused severe injuries to his back. They also lit a match stick and burnt his beard. The police have yet to take any action.
Friday prayers banned in major Kashmiri mosque for 8th week in a row
The management body of Jamia Masjid, the largest mosque in Kashmir, has reported that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration has banned Friday prayers in the mosque for the eighth week in a row.
“Such hostile acts by the administration are… tantamount to interference in religious affairs,” the body said.
Prayers were initially banned in the mosque to prevent Muslims from protesting Israel’s slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza.
Hindu extremist monks call for targeting mosques, violence against Muslims
Hindu extremist leaders, some of them monks and religious leaders, have called for anti-Muslim violence and hatred throughout India. In Noida, Uttar Pradesh, serial hate monger Yati Narsinghanand gave a speech filled with hate and fear mongering against Muslims. In Jamui, Bihar, Hindu extremist leader Khushbu Pandey also known as Hindu Sherni, called on Hindus to take up arms and target Muslim places of worship. In Chamoli, Uttarakhand, extremist monk Swami Darshan Bharti promoted animosity towards Muslims in the state.
