Hindu Extremist Mobs, Police Terrorize Muslims Across India During Hindu Festival Of Ramnavmi
Hindu extremist mobs terrorized Muslims with violence and vandalisms during the Hindu festival Ram Navmi across several Indian states, including Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, and Karnataka.
A Hindu extremist mob terrorized Muslims with the aid of police in Mulbagal town in Karnataka state during a Ram Navmi rally. Police beat several people and destroyed house gates, cars, motorbikes, and other properties owned by Muslims, while the saffron flag-waving mob chanted the Hindu religious slogan “Jai Sri Ram.” Images from the aftermath of the event include shattered car windows and the bloodied face of a Muslim man who was brutally beaten.
“Suddenly 3-4 police jeeps came with a right-wing rally and attacked our houses, destroyed vehicles and jumped on the rooftop. They asked every name of person passing by if it was Muslim, they would beat [them],” a Muslim resident reported.
A young boy reported that police attacked him as well, saying, “Yesterday, I was returning… after performing namaz (prayer) & breaking my fast. I was frightened and started running when the police tried to catch me, they threw a stick at me.”
In Gujarat, Muslim homes, businesses, mosques and shrines were attacked, vandalized and burnt in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Goa. In Madhya Pradesh, the police and administration then illegally demolished the homes of Muslims who had been the victims in the violence.

Students Affiliated With Modi’s BJP Attack Students at Jawaharlal Nehru University
Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student Hindu supremacist organization with ties to the paramilitary Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), sparked a violent clash at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi over non-vegetarian food. The extremist students harassed and threatened a vendor who had delivered chicken to a campus hostel, claiming that they did not want non-vegetarian food cooked and served to students.
The RSS is the ideological parent of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
After other students protested against the ABVP members’ harassment, stone pelting began. At least 8 students were injured, with images from the scene showing one student with a bloodied forehead and another with back injuries.
“The violence started when dinner started being served around 7:30 pm. ABVP activists had lathis, bricks and sweepers in their hands. When they saw non-veg being served for dinner, they got aggressive and started beating students up. I was hit with a lathi repeatedly,” said Harendra Seshama, a student activist.
“Every Sunday, both non-vegetarian and vegetarian food is cooked in all hostels. This is the usual practice. ABVP students were having some event near Kaveri hostel and when the vendor came to deliver chicken, they stopped him. They harassed and heckled both him and the mess secretary, saying that a havan is being held and non-vegetarian food can’t be cooked,” stated Anagha Pradeep, counselor of the JNU Students’ Union (JNUSU).
The ABVP members denied that they had an issue with non-vegetarian food, claiming instead that they were responding to a disrupted Hindu religious service. However, a student-run body that determines hostel menus confirmed Pradeep’s report in a letter to the Dean of Students, which sought intervention from the school administration.
“The vendor who came to deliver chicken was verbally abused, threatened and manhandled. Students from outside of Kaveri hostel assaulted hostel committee members,” read the letter.
Hindu Extremists Lynch Muslim Man In Rajasthan After Hindu Extremists Attack Muslim Homes, Businesses
A Hindu extremist mob brutally lynched Mohammad Saleem, a 55-year-old Muslim vegetable vendor, a day after an extremist mob instigated anti-Muslim violence in Karauli, Rajasthan. The attack began when Suraj Marothia, a Hindu supremacist, hit Saleem with his van. A witness reported that Marothia then began hurling slurs and abuses at Saleem.
“Why are Mullahs (a slur used against Muslims) here at the market? You have no work here. Your status is so low that all Mullahs will get wiped out if we urinate. We’ll stop the entry of Mullahs in the market,” Suraj was reported as saying.
“Suraj Marothia, Shankar Bhati, Dharma Bhati, Jai alias Tony Bhati, Sunil Bhati, Shankar Panwar, Rakesh GRD, were present there and attacked Saleem with iron pipes and wooden sticks. They even hit him with a beam scale,” the witness reported.
Saleem suffered serious head injuries as a result of the brutal attack. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
BJP Youth Leaders Sue Snack Company Over Urdu Script On Labels
In a ludicrous display of Hindu extremists’ deep-rooted hatred for all things associated with Muslims, two BJP leaders sued the popular snack company Haldiram’s for having Urdu script on its product labels. The extremists alleged that the Urdu script on Haldiram’s labels was a “planned, deliberate, and intentional attempt to hurt the religious sentiment of millions of Sanatanis.”
“Even if we accept the fact that Haldiram did this by because many Muslim consumers will be buying this product, then also, it cannot justify the preference given to Urdu over Hindi as if we look at it from the economical point of view, Hindi should have preferred as it is obvious, for any prudent person, to understand that most of the consumer of this product would be Hindi speaking Sanatanis,” the legal notice read.
