Hindu extremist monk says Muslims must be “eliminated”

At an event in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj organized by prominent Hindu militant groups, Hindu extremist monk Yashveer Maharaj declared that “all problems have one solution—Islam and Muslims must be eliminated.” Maharaj further pushed for the forced conversion of Muslims to Hinduism. 

110 shops in Muslim-majority area demolished

In Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal, officials demolished 110 shops in a Muslim-majority area, labeling them “encroachments.” Authorities also labeled nearly 400 homes as targets for demolition. 

Punitive demolitions targeting Muslim-owned homes, businesses, and places of worship have continued throughout India, in spite of the Supreme Court banning punitive demolitions without due process in November 2024. 

BJP leader calls Muslims “snakes”

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician Nitesh Rane, a vocal Hindu extremist, referred to Muslims as “green snakes” and “jihadis” at an event organized by the supremacist group Hindu Janajagruti Samiti. Rane also declared that India is a “Hindu nation” and claimed that Muslims are targeting Hindu temples and Hindu women.
