Hindu extremists attack mosque with battering ram

A disturbing viral video taken in Maharashtra’s Rajapur shows a crowd of Hindu extremists using a large wooden battering ram to break into Jama Masjid to “celebrate” Shimga, a pre-Holi festival. As the mob tried to force their way inside, mosque authorities shut the gates, while police officers stood by without intervening. The footage has sparked widespread outrage on social media.

Muslims attacked, forced to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ over Holi donations

In Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, a group of Hindu extremists attacked local Muslims with sharp weapons after demanding Holi donations. Despite being assured that they would be given donations, the mob attacked victims from the back and forced them to chant “Jai Shri Ram.” Several Muslims were left bloodied and injured. 

Over 1,000 detained, mosques covered in Uttar Pradesh ahead of Holi 

Ahead of expected violence and tension during the Hindu festival Holi, authorities in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal detained over 1,000 people and covered multiple mosques with tarps ahead of Holi. Officials claimed this is a precautionary measure, but local Muslims have labeled the move a targeted attack on the vulnerable minority group.
