Hindu extremists harass Muslim man over relationship with Hindu woman
Members of the Hindu militant group Bajrang Dal raided a hotel in Hindu supremacist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Haryana state, where they harassed and assaulted a Muslim man over his relationship with a Hindu woman.
Hindu militants are known for violently policing interfaith relationships and interactions between Muslim men and Hindu women, resulting in Muslim men being publicly attacked, arbitrarily arrested, and sometimes lynched to death.
Muslim man attacked by Hindu extremists in Delhi, police refuse to register complaint
A 24-year-old Muslim man who was previously jailed under false charges of forced conversion, Tauqeer Ahmed Khan, was beaten by Hindu extremists in the capital city Delhi.
He endured multiple visible injuries on his face, neck, back, and legs. His jaw was also severely damaged during the attack. Despite this, three police stations in the vicinity where the incident took place refused to lodge a complaint against the Hindu extremists.
Khan was arrested in 2021 over false charges of being involved in forced religious conversion. Since his release in March 2023, he has faced ongoing death threats and harassment on social media.
Hindu supremacist calls for converting 400,000 mosques into temples
The Editor-in-Chief of a rightwing television news network, Suresh Chavhanke, delivered a hate speech in Uttar Pradesh state calling for the conversion of 400,000 mosques into temples.
Last year, Chavhanke took an oath along with other Hindu supremacists, vowing to “fight, die for and if need be, kill” to turn India from a secular democracy into a Hindu nation.
Hindu extremist monk calls for violence against Muslims
Hindu extremist monk Kalicharan Maharaj attended a hate speech rally in Maharashtra state, where he called on Hindus to take up arms against Muslims.
“People who understand the language of guns and swords don’t understand words,” he said, referring to Muslims.
Maharaj also made baseless false claims that the Muslims destroyed 500,000 temples and killed thousands of Hindu saints.

A 16th century mosque has been temporarily sealed by officials in Maharashtra state. The move comes after Hindu supremacists claimed that the mosque was constructed on the remains of a demolished Hindu temple, despite protests from the mosque’s officials.
