Hindu militants threaten to strip, kill Christians in Odisha

In Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur, Hindu militants raided a Christian gathering and threatened to strip attendees and beat them to death. The militants raided the gathering over allegations that they were forcibly converting Hindus to Christianity. 

In Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh, Hindu extremists assaulted and injured a Christian man over similar allegations, following which the victim of the assault was arrested. Meanwhile, Hindu militants in Dhamtari protested the burial of a Christian person in the village, forcing the family to bury the body outside the village.

Muslim-owned restaurant demolished over Hindu militants’ allegations

In Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, civic officials demolished a restaurant after Hindu militants protested its Muslim owner, accusing him of hiding his religious identity. The restaurant was forced to close down last month and has now been demolished. 

Following the introduction of a controversial policy in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh requiring eateries to publicly display the names of all employees, several Muslims have reported job losses and the potential closure of their businesses.

Over 80 Muslim families evicted in Uttar Pradesh 

The BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh government forcibly vacated over 80 houses belonging to Muslim families in Sambhal, citing “illegal construction” and “encroachments.” The move has left dozens of families displaced and struggling to find shelter. Some are now forced to live on the streets.

The families have been residing in the area for more than 50 years. Just a year ago, several properties were bulldozed in Sambhal under the garb of removing “illegal encroachments.”

Hindu militants harass Muslim women over henna services to Hindu women

In the capital city of Delhi, Hindu militants from the Bajrang Dal harassed and stopped Muslim henna artists from working, and also targeted their Hindu clients. The women were getting henna applied for celebrations of a Hindu festival.

The militants threatened that they would not allow any Hindu women to get their henna done by “veiled women” and peddled false narratives of “love jihad.”

Police raid prayer meetings, arrest Christians over allegations of forced conversion

In Bihar’s Saharsa, Hindu militants from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, along with police officials, disrupted a Christian prayer meeting, resulting in the detention of a pastor and the confiscation of Bibles from a local home.

In BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi, police raided the home of a Christian family and detained three individuals over allegations that they were forcibly converting Hindus to Christianity. Similarly, in Sultanpur, police raided a Christian prayer meeting and arrested a couple after a complaint from a Hindu extremist who disrupted the gathering. The police detained several attendees along with the two arrests.
