IAMC Report: Persecution of Religious Minorities in India (Apr-Jun 2023)
Indian American Muslim Council’s (IAMC) 2nd quarterly report titled “Persecution of Religious Minorities in India” brings attention to the distressing escalation in communal violence, targeted attacks, cow vigilantism and hate speech directed against religious minorities. Muslims and Christians were particularly affected by these incidents, deepening the existing climate of persecution and discrimination faced by minority communities in the country. Urgent attention from the Indian government and the international community is imperative to address these grave concerns and ensure accountability and justice for the victims. Addressing these issues effectively is vital to fostering democracy, tolerance, and respect for human rights in India.
