India’s George Floyd moment caught on cam: Cop assaults man while kneeling on his neck

In a horrific incident, a Jodhpur police officer kneeled on the neck of a man and thrashed him brutally for not wearing a mask in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur on Thursday. The man got into a fistfight with the two policemen after they tried to challan him for not putting on a mask amid the viral pandemic.

In the video, a policeman can be seen raining punches on the man, identified as Somkaran, while pinning him down on the ground with a knee on his neck, something that happened with George Floyd in the US.… The two police constables, who are seen in the video, are attached to the Devkaran Police Station.

While Somakaran has been arrested for attacking on-duty police officers, no action has been taken against the two cops so far.… Former DGP of Uttar Pradesh Vikram Singh said… that the policemen should not have behaved in this irresponsible, callous and insensitive manner. He added that the police leadership should suspend the cop immediately and if he is found prima facie guilty, then he should be dismissed from service.
