Letter: IAMC Atlanta Chapter calls on Global Mall owner to cancel Sadhvi Ritambhara’s event
Greetings, Mr. Shiv Agarwal!
I was waiting for you to call me back, but it didn’t happen. I understand you may be busy with family events on Sunday.
I am following up with you about the event you have organised on Tuesday, Aug 30 & 31st at the Global Mall. Atlanta’s Muslim and non-Muslim communities are saddened and outraged at the space and opportunity you are providing as a sponsor to a hate monger that has openly called for genocide of Muslims, Christians, and other minorities in India, including Dalits.
We cannot understand how your business or anyone else could support and promote such a person and the event.
A few of us representing the wider Muslim community of Metro Atlanta would like to meet you personally at the Global Mall and share our concerns, hoping that you will immediately cancel this event. We consider Global Mall as “our mall” to assemble with families and friends. Many of the business owners of this place are Muslims. Each one of them and us, as well as our Hindu brothers and sisters, expect and demand from you that you will manage your real estate with full values of democracy and respect for all communities, irrespective of their faith and race.
I hope you will give us 10-15 minutes of time at/around 10:00 AM tomorrow to meet with you. We may also come at a time you may propose.
Please note that If I don’t hear from you, we will have no choice but to exercise our democratic and legal right to protest.
Please accept my sincere thanks for reading this message, and I hope you will respond to me today or latest, by 9:00 AM tomorrow.
With regards,
Zameer Khan
