Muslim man dies after police raid his house in Uttar Pradesh

In far-right Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Uttar Pradesh state, a Muslim man, Shahzad, died after police conducted a raid of his house. A video connected to the incident claims that the policemen fired gunshots during the raid, after which they fled the scene. 

Family of Muslim minor who was beaten by Hindu classmates face threats 

The family of a Muslim child who was slapped by his classmates under orders of a Hindu extremist teacher, Tripta Tyagi, have been threatened to be excommunicated from the village where they live if they refuse to halt legal proceedings against Tyagi. The Muslim minor’s father also said that he is worried about their future in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh state, which is known for high rates of Hindu extremist violence against minorities. 

Hindu extremists disrupt Christian prayer meet, 3 Christians jailed over false charges

In BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh state’s Pilibhit district, members of Hindu extremist groups disrupted a Christian prayer meeting over baseless allegations of forced religious conversion. However, instead of holding the extremists accountable, police arrested three Christians and sent them to jail. 

Uttar Pradesh’s criminalization of religious conversion away from Hinduism has resulted in increased Hindu extremist violence against Muslims and Christians. 

Anti-Muslim hate speeches delivered in Rajasthan, Chattisgarh and Haryana

In Chattisgarh’s Raipur, a leader of the Hindu supremacist group Antarashtriya Hindu Parishad (AHP) delivered hate speech against Muslims and Islam. In Rajasthan, the Hindu militant group Vishwa Hindu Parishad organized an event where speakers delivered anti-Muslim speeches. In BJP-ruled Haryana’s Hathni, members of Hindu supremacist groups organized a hate event promoting enmity towards Muslims.
