Muslim man forced to lick spit, beaten by college bullies in Bihar
In Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, a young Muslim man, Nabi Hasan, was assaulted by a group of men inside a college campus. The attackers forced him to lick their spit and subjected him to further humiliation, including making him do sit-ups holding his ears.
The assault, captured in a video, shows the perpetrators beating Hasan with a stick and belt, as a large crowd stood by without intervening to stop the violence. A complaint has been registered, but the accused remain at large.
Kashmiri Muslim trainee constable shot dead by soldier guard at police facility
A Muslim trainee police constable, Mohammad Sareer, was shot dead by Sentry Babu Ram, who was guarding a post at a police training institute in Jammu and Kashmir. Sareer succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
Earlier this year, a Muslim police constable was shot in the head and died from a bullet “accidentally” fired from the jammed pistol of a senior police official, Rajeev Kumar, in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh.
Muslim man claims police pressured him to convert to Hinduism while in custody
A Muslim man, Fatehuddin, from Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur, has claimed that he was forcibly converted to Hinduism while in police custody. According to Uddin, a police officer and a prominent Hindu extremist leader forced him into the conversion by threatening him with false charges and severe consequences if he refused.
Supreme Court grants bail to two convicts involved in 1987 anti-Muslim massacre
The Supreme Court granted bail to two more convicts involved in an anti-Muslim massacre that took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Hashimpura in 1987, in which 38 Muslim men were killed by Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel. This follows the Court’s previous decision on December 6 to grant bail to eight other convicts.
The Hashimpura massacre occurred on May 22, 1987, when PAC personnel rounded up approximately 50 Muslim men, fatally shot them, and dumped their bodies in a canal.
