Police violently quell student protests against anti-Muslim citizenship law
Police in Kerala state baton-charged students, including women, who were protesting against the anti-Muslim Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). In the capital city of Delhi, over 60 students were detained by the police for protesting against the CAA.
Soon after India’s Hindu supremacist government announced rules to implement the (CAA), student organizations across the country staged demonstrations against the discriminatory law, which is aimed at stripping Muslims of their citizenship en masse.
Muslim cattle trader assaulted by cow vigilantes in Jharkhand

In far-right BJP-ruled Gujarat’s Kutch, civic officials demolished three madrassas, alleging that the structures had been built “illegally”. Recently, in Junagadh, officials demolished a Muslim shrine overnight.

Muslim leader arrested after accusing BJP government of targeting madrassas
Muslim leader Hafiz Noor Ahmad Raza Azhari has been arrested in far-right Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Uttar Pradesh over remarks criticizing BJP leader Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and a Hindu militant monk.
Azhari is the chief of the All India Muslim personal law Board, a non-governmental organization that represents the interests of Muslims in matters of personal law. He had accused the Yogi government of carrying out a targeted statewide campaign to shut down madrassas, which would hinder Muslims’ ability to receive religious education.
BJP leaders, Hindu supremacists openly call for violence against Muslims
In Mumbai, Maharashtra, far-right BJP leader Nitesh Rane led an oath to boycott MusIim street vendors, promising impunity to Hindu extremists who commit vioIence against them. In Jalgaon, social media influencer Harasha Thakur openly called for violence against Muslims, saying, “We will enter your homes and beat you.”
In Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Hindu militant cow vigilante Bittu Bajrangi delivered an inflammatory and dehumanizing speech against Muslims. In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Hindu preacher Swami Sachchidanand weaponized history to incite hate against Muslims and Christians.
