Two Muslim-owned shops demolished in Madhya Pradesh

In Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur, civic officials demolished two Muslim-owned shops after labeling them “illegal encroachments.” However, residents reported that several nearby shops and buildings were also marked as encroachments, but only the Muslim-owned shops were demolished. Owners were informed just one night before, in violation of a Supreme Court order forbidding demolitions without issuing a 15-day notice.

India’s Supreme Court recently banned the weaponization of demolitions as collective punishment against Muslims, declaring that any demolitions carried out without proper notice or legal permission amounts to contempt of court.

Hindu extremist cow vigilantes harass truck driver for transporting camels

In BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura, Hindu extremist cow vigilantes stopped a truck transporting camels and detained the driver, accusing him of smuggling the animals for slaughter. The vigilantes then seized the camels and took them to a cow shelter. In BJP-ruled Haryana’s Panipat, cow vigilantes seized a truck transporting cattle and harassed the driver, accusing him of cattle smuggling.

Hindu militant mobs regularly attack Muslims over baseless accusations of committing crimes. These mobs, also known as cow vigilantes, assault and often lynch Muslims accused of transporting cattle or consuming beef.

Christian couple arrested in Uttar Pradesh over alleged forced conversion

In BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur, Hindu militants from the Bajrang Dal, along with the police, raided a Christian family’s house after accusing them of forcibly converting Hindus to Christianity. They presented the Bibles that they found in the house as evidence and arrested the couple.

In Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri, police raided a Christian prayer meeting and arrested the pastors following allegations by Hindu militants that they were luring Hindus with financial incentives.
