A mob of Hindu extremists demolished graves and installed idols inside a 600-year-old shrine in far-right Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. The attack heightened communal tensions in the area, leading to stone pelting and the arrest of 30 people.

PM Modi, BJP ministers continue anti-Muslim election campaign, target Pakistan
Federal minister Amit Shah, BJP minister and Hindu militant monk Yogi Adityanath along with other BJP leaders repeated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Islamophobic claim that the opposition party has declared “vote jihad” against him by calling on Muslims to unite and vote against the BJP.
They also went on to target neighboring Muslim-majority country Pakistan.
“It will only take us 15 seconds to wipe you out, not 15 minutes; a vote for MIM or Congress (opposition parties) is a vote for Pakistan,” BJP candidate Navneet Rana threatened.
“If you chant for Pakistan, then live there, don’t be a burden on India; Opposition supports terrorists, supports cow slaughter; opposes Ram temple,” Adityanath claimed.
